Meta-Braze 450

Meta-Braze450 is an industry standard for brazing tungsten carbide is very widely used for applications such as cutting tools, wear parts and drill bits. It contains nickel for improved strength and wetting and is recommended for small-medium sized carbide segments (<20mm). In these applications it provides a slightly thicker joint than more free-flowing alloys such as Meta-Braze155. This factor can help with absorbing stresses arising from the different expansion and contraction rates of the parent materials during the brazing process.

Meta-Braze450 can be easier to use than Meta-Braze449 because it does not contain manganese which affects alloy flow and appearance.

Meta-Braze 450 is also available as a Meta-Braze Advanced product with flux incorporated into the product, in a channel or central core, for repeatable and controlled brazing.

Meta-Braze 449

Meta-Braze449 is very widely used for brazing of tungsten carbide and PCD segments in applications such as cutting tools, wear parts and drill bits. It contains both nickel and manganese which have been shown to improve wetting of the brazing alloy especially on the more difficult to braze grades of tungsten carbide.

Meta-Braze449 is particularly suitable for small-medium sized carbide segments (<20mm). In these applications it provides a slightly thicker joint than more free-flowing alloys such as Meta-Braze155. This factor can help with absorbing stresses arising from the different expansion and contraction rates of the parent materials during the brazing process.

Meta-Braze 440

Meta-Braze440 is used for brazing tungsten carbide in applications where its higher brazing temperature can be tolerated. It is also employed for silver brazing of stainless steel automotive components where its nickel content can provide improved metallurgical properties.

Meta-Braze 049 Trifoil

Meta-Braze049 Trifoil is a specially engineered laminated brazing product containing a central copper core which provides a solution for cracking issues in brazed joints which are either made from larger sections (>20mm) or are subject to very high stresses in service. Meta-Braze049 is very widely used for brazing of tungsten carbide and PCD segments in applications such as cutting tools, wear parts and drill bits. It contains both nickel and manganese which have been shown to improve wetting of the brazing alloy especially on the more difficult to braze grades of tungsten carbide.
