Meta-Braze™ 450
Meta-Braze™450 is an industry standard for brazing tungsten carbide is very widely used for applications such as cutting tools, wear parts and drill bits. It contains nickel for improved strength and wetting and is recommended for small-medium sized carbide segments (<20mm). In these applications it provides a slightly thicker joint than more free-flowing alloys such as Meta-Braze™155. This factor can help with absorbing stresses arising from the different expansion and contraction rates of the parent materials during the brazing process.
Meta-Braze™450 can be easier to use than Meta-Braze™449 because it does not contain manganese which affects alloy flow and appearance.
Meta-Braze™ 450 is also available as a Meta-Braze Advanced™ product with flux incorporated into the product, in a channel or central core, for repeatable and controlled brazing.
