Meta-Braze™ 160 is a silver-copper-tin brazing alloy that has a number of niche applications. It is a zinc-free alloy which has been used for silver brazing of stainless steel joints that are exposed to water in damp or wet service environments. Meta-Braze™ 160 is believed to prevent interfacial (crevice) corrosion in this situation.
Meta-Braze™ 160 can also be manufactured to vacuum grade (V1) and used in furnace brazing applications under a partial pressure of inert gas. Product availability of some forms is limited, subject to special order and minimum order conditions.
