Flux for Meta-Braze™ 155

When silver brazing in air, there are several flux types that would be suitable for use with low temperature silver brazing alloys such as Meta-Braze™ 155. The following factors need to be considered when selecting a flux: the type of parent metals being joined; the filler metal;the brazing processes and heating method; the number of parts being brazed and flux residue removal.

Meta-Braze™ LT 21 Flux Powder is a general purpose silver brazing flux comparing favourably with the leading fluxes on the market. It has good hot rodding characteristics making it suitable for refrigeration and air-conditioning applications where water cannot be introduced into the system.

Meta-Braze™ LT 21 Flux Powder has a working range of 550-800°C and becomes very active at the lower end of this range to reduce the formation of oxides during the heating cycle. It is used to braze steel, copper and copper alloys with a suitable silver brazing alloy melting below 750°C such as Meta-Braze™ 155.
